This role is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to a year. The focus is the following:

• Provision of interpretation of financial data and predictive results,
• Design and implementation of accounting processes, systems and controls over all Old Mutual International (“OMI”) products.
• Designing processes around management of all policyholder assets and liabilities within Old Mutual International.
• Analysis as well as recording of all IMS and IMS NAV accounting transactions.
• Proper analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts for validity, completeness, accuracy, and correct recording into the annual financial statements.
• Preparation as well as provision of disclosure reports to OM Wealth reporting team.
• Working closely with the operations team and or service providers to ensure the completeness and accuracy of authorized custodian as well as Direct Funds holdings data for reporting purposes.
• Ensure correct interpretation of the different transaction types.
• Responsible for preparation of OMI investment repository and all related disclosure requirements.
• Responsible for designing overall control improvement related to financial reporting.
• Tests new AC’s which are reconciled through the Index Pipeline to ensure correct mapping and interpretation of all transaction types.
• Responsible for audit liaisons ve and statutory requirements.
• Management and supervision of junior staff.
• Subject matter on finance related projects.
• Generates financial information, as well as analyzing and reporting on variances.
• Provides commentary on financial results and implications and advises on corrective action to be taken.
• Interacts with business unit line managers on financial outcomes, expense trends, as well providing financial assistance and training to line managers within the business.
• Emphasis of the role is on interpretation and predictive results.
• Supports the execution of a business plan.
• Accountable for governance and compliance at an operational level.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

• CA(SA) with relevant experience or Relevant degree with minimum 5 years’ experience.
