Finance Data Analyst
The purpose of the role is to drive the enablement of strategic and performance insights. Finance analytics supports better decision making by focusing on data and the delivery of real time insights.
A key objective is to improve data integrity and visibility through standardized reporting and self-service analysis platforms. The Finance Data Analyst will be responsible for the full power of data and analytics to support the finance decision makers, as well increasing the analytics capabilities at TFG.
- Faster and better data driven decision making
- Develop standard data definitions and calculation rules for key finance metrics

- Maintenance of current finance analytics dashboards
- Development of new reports and dashboards
Key Performance Areas
1: Conduct analysis and business requirements
- Interprets and analyses data and presents insights to stakeholders
- Analyze business requirements for new analytics and reports
- Translate visualization requirements into source data requirements
- Ensure data architecture promotes a standardized and simplified data environment and is line with finance data strategy
- Identify system enhancements to fulfil analytics requirements
- Identify new data requirements to support finance analytics
2: Contribute to Finance Analytics Strategy
- Applies knowledge of emerging technology principles and tools to identify opportunities
- Implement new technologies to drive digital finance transformation
- Documents, organizes and continually shares internally learnings and best practices for developing digital solutions

3: Build and Develop
- Ownership of all finance analytics reports and dashboards
- Manage data models created for finance analytics and provide guidance on any changes required
- Engage with TFG Infotec to build custom integrations for data requirements
- Work closely with TFG Infotec to create new data models in SAP BW / EDW / Pyramid Analytics
- Build and design storytelling through data to answer business questions
- Build reports in A40
- Build data visualizations in Pyramid Analytics
- Work iteratively with finance stakeholders to ensure story telling stays relevant
4: Conduct Maintenance and User Acceptance Testing
- Assess impact of any changes to down-stream systems on finance analytics
- Own and maintain data models created for finance analytics and provide guidance on any changes required
- Develop effective and efficient test plans
- Test and implement new reports and dashboards with users
- Maintain masterdata created for finance analytics

5: Continuous Improvement, System Support and Training
- Investigating and resolving all incidents (data accuracy and integrity issues) logged for finance analytics dashboards

- Train business users on reports and dashboards
- Monitor system performance
- Improve data models to support analytics as finance system environment changes

- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders

Job Requirements

Experience
- 5 – 8 years functional experience in Finance Information Systems
Qualification
- Honours Degree in Finance / Business / Mathematics / Stats
- CA (SA) / CIMA / ASSSA is desirable
Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
