Job Description:

Sanlam Specialised Finance (SanFin) is responsible for creation of shared value for Sanlam, its shareholders, policy holders, and societies with in which it operates by managing financial risk, developing financial products, and balance sheet optimisation, pursuing investments and financing opportunities in assets, sectors, markets, organisations, and geographies that enable maximum return within acceptable risk parameters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all systems supported are fully maintained and have a high level of support
  • Ensure annual budgets for systems are set and managed
  • Ensure that information gathering from business for new requirements is at a high standard and all aspects of the system development lifecycle is followed from scoping, functionality requirements, dependencies, assumptions through to acceptance, design, testing and implementation
  • Super user application support is required, and an in-depth understanding of all supported systems is essential
  • Maintain good relationships between department, users and stakeholders of supported systems
  • Oversee and manage department staff
  • Ensure business continuity requirements are met and off-site systems can be supported and recovered
  • Maintain business model consistency throughout information delivery process for all supported systems
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency of information through sound integration and delivery
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable IT policies and standards are adhered to
  • Oversee all aspects of IT projects from assigning responsibilities, monitoring and summarising project progress and deadlines, and preparation of relevant reports

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma with 10 to 12 years related experience.
  • Software and hardware panning
  • Management and implementation of applications
  • Feasibility and business requirements
  • Project Management
  • Management of functional division

Qualification & Experience:

  • Sound Office 365 knowledge
  • Transfer of knowledge to users and peers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to remain level-headed and composed during high stress periods
  • Experience working within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment (advantageous)
  • Sound understanding of IT terminology
  • Analytical thinker with sound problem solving abilities
  • Good listener and problem solver
