Job Description:

The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous input and support into maintenance, shutdown and project planning activities at various business units and to apply the planning processes at an operational level.  To follow the Work Management work instruction and RACI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist to draw up network diagram, create Bar/Gantt chart and obtain approval for program execution
  • Providing of information/reports on request from line management
  • Categorize work according to criticality/priority – (apply priority guidelines and test emergency/urgent work for non-compliance to guidelines)
  • Monitor and coordinate execution of work activities and note deviations from program;  Day-to-Day / Shutdowns / general overhaul (GO) and turnaround (TA)
  • Assist with scope kick off meetings for complex jobs, general overhaul (GO) and turnaround (TA)
  • Ensure the statutory process is maintained and adhered to
  • Full contribution to statutory compliance and management  decisions
  • Have full understanding and effectively apply all planning and related processes and procedures
  • Have understanding of production (plant) operations, equipment and process
  • Assist maintenance to ensure optimal affectivity of maintenance strategies

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years total work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Artisan or a Junior Planner;
  • NQF 2 AND Planning Learnership:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Junior Planner;
  • Engineering National Diploma in (Electrical, Instrumentation and or Mechanical)
  • Minimum of 2 years total work experience
  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science AND an Occupational Trade Qualification (NQF 4)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Principal Planner Assistant;
