Samancor General Worker Jobs – Maintenance Superintendent

Job Responsibilities:

• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
• Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
• Manage the Section:
• Foster a climate of continuous improvement in the maintenance team
• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
• Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section
• Document and review the plant maintenance strategy on an annual basis to ensure that it is aligned with the business plan•    Ensure strict adherence to maintenance work management principles (percent planned work, adherence to schedule, number of breakdowns, number of proactive requests) to obtain maximum plant availability at minimum maintenance cost per unit produced
• Labour complement in line with budget
• Manage performance against set targets and competencies
• Ensure an enabling climate/culture
• Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
• Perform planned job observations
• Develop the capability of the maintenance organisation for the plant

Qualification & Experience:

• Professional registration with ECSA
• Eng / BSc Eng Degree or Technikon Diploma
• Masters Degree
• GCC
• MBA
• 6 years relevant experience within the Smelting environment
• 2 years managerial experience
