Randwater Jobs – Process Control Assistant Sedimentation

Job Description:

The successful incumbent will be responsible to assist the Supervisor to isolate the Sedimentation Tanks by opening and closing manual valves and mounting drop gates. Further assisting in general cleaning of MOL plant, sampling kiosks, Poly plant, Silica plant Water Recovery and Upwash plant, Chlorine rooms, Ferric Plants, toilets, Change Rooms and Eating facilities. Install/Operate sludge pumps/conveyors to remove sludge from the Sedimentation Tanks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install & operate sludge pumps/conveyors in cleaning of Sedimentation tanks.
• Clean sand traps and assist with general housekeeping duties.
• Assist in Filter House and with Sedimentation tank cleaning when required.
• Assist in isolation and installation of portable handrails, slide gates, winches & pipes.
• Opening and closing of manual valves and drop gates.
• Cleaning of Sedimentation tanks & Carbonation bays.

Qualification & Experience:

• Able to work on suspended floors.
• Basic understanding of the water treatment process.
• Grade 12.
• Safety training
