Job Description:

Rand Water is currently looking for a Technical Trainer to create and promote a learning environment in which the division’s needs are met in accordance with its strategic and operational objectives by ensuring optimum congruence between organizational, programme needs and Water and Sanitation Sector needs for Rand Water to meet its strategic and operation objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Guide learners about their learning, assessment and recognition opportunities
• Evaluate a learning intervention using given evaluation instruments (learning programmes)
• Develop meaningful relationships to promote learner support
• Provide coaching and mentoring to learners
• Implement training budget against labour costs per quarter
• Evaluate and audit service providers
• Proactively identify learner needs and challenges
• Develop training and learnership implementation plan
• Conduct training needs analysis according to ETD requirements
• Review and update assessment guide
• Analyze learner challenges and decide on appropriate actions
• Review and update learning material
• Conduct outcomes-based assessment
• Develop and Design training and learnership programmes
• Facilitate learning using a variety of given methodology
• Plan and implement Skills Development interventions

• Skills Development Act • National Qualifications Framework • Sectoral Education and Training Authority • National Skills Authority • South African Qualifications Authority • Basic Conditions of Employment Act • Labour Relations Act.

Qualification & Experience:

Minimum requirements: Matric; Degree/B-Tech in Water Care/Water Utilization or equivalent qualification; 3 – 5 years’ experience in the ETD environment; Detailed knowledge of ALL aspects related to Water Purification; Wastewater, Laboratory, and Water Demand & Management experience; + 3 years experience in Design & Development and Implementation of learning programs; Assessor; Computer literacy (Ms Office Suite); A valid Code B drivers’ license • Added advantage; Have ODETD Practitioner NQF L5; Skills Development Facilitation and Moderation certificate; Have knowledge on training legislative prescripts
