Job Description:

The Technical Artisan is responsible for all civil, electrical or mechanical related systems of the facility, including but not limited to maintenance, repair and instillation of equipment, devices and appliances

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintaining of full and accurate records for all maintenance work and services undertaken on areas under this position’s control
• Reporting on the condition and functionality of responsible areas.
• Responsible for civil related systems of the facility.
• Preventative maintenance planning and implementation, according to Company Policies and Procedures, as determined from time-to-time.
• Guidance on repairs to water pressurised fire systems.
• Monitoring and quality control of all contractor work carried out on hospital land and buildings.
• Safety of all sewer, hot and cold water systems, structures, walkways, furnishings, fixtures and fittings.
• Repairs, maintenance and supervision of all sewer, hot and cold water systems, structures, furnishings and fittings.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace
• A good working knowledge of PFC and stand-by power facilities
• Ability to travel independently due to 24 hour functionality of the Hospital environment
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary
• Knowledge of R158 Building Regulations with specific reference to Hospitals and Theatre specifications as well as industrial kitchens.
• Will interact with internal and external customers through several different means
• Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business hours
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Qualification & Experience:

• Electrical Installation License
• NQF level 5 Engineering qualification or higher
• Computer literary advantageous
• At least 3 years’ experience on electrical / electronic installation / maintenance
• Knowledge of SA
• National Trade Diploma
