Job Description:
The Projects Engineer will be the custodian of technical matters relating to any Netcare’s engineering projects, asset replacement, NMIRT shutdowns, functionality tests or breakdowns, and the co-ordination thereof.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend Netcare technical and/or engineering meetings and stakeholder requirements.
- Chair /CO-chair National Technical Meetings.
- Assist in effective rollout of these policies and procedures.
- Participate in core standard audit/ facility condition audit as and when required.
- Ensure compliance of facilities to statutory requirements and relay to NTM.
- Ensure safe environments for patients where work is carried out.
- Chair the Technical Design Review Meetings (TDRMs), Hospital Shutdown Committee Review Meetings
- Liaise with local authorities, Department of Health, as well as all other internal divisions within the Group.
- Chair design discrepancy meetings and site inspections.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge in of the statuary hospital regulations, specifically with regards to hospitals, theatres and industrial kitchens.
- Construction management courses, including working knowledge of contract documentation such as JBCC and PROCSA.
- Extensive knowledge in the hospital environment within all disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical,Wet services and other engineering services in the hospital environment.
- Proficient understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act’s regulations relating to machinery.
- Extensive knowledge in the relevant regulatory and statutory regulations.
- Extensive knowledge in National Building Regulations.
Qualification & Experience:
- Professional Engineering registration (Pr.) (Electrical/Mechanical).
- Project management qualification highly desirable.
- Degree/BTech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering at a NQF level 7.
- Government Certified Certificate of competence (GCC) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.(Factories).
- Master Installation Electrician registration with the Department of Labour.
- Facility Management Qualification highly desirable.
