Job Description:

The Handyman is responsible for performing basic maintenance of grounds, equipment and other small jobs that may be required from time to time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure job cards for allocated maintenance are completed.
  • Ensure job plans & maintenance schedules are carried out.
  • Performing unsupervised basic maintenance of Hospital facilities and equipment.
  • General cleaning and maintenance of Hospital property
  • Ensuring that the public areas are well maintained – Small projects relating to the above basic plumbing and maintenance of water reticulation
  • Ensure that maintenance performed is according to the required Health & Safety Standards.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures & legislation in line with corporate governance.
  • Basic brick laying, Dry walling, Plumbing, Electrical, Plastering, Painting and Carpentry
  • Report / escalate faults to the Supervisor.
  • Investigate faults & carry out the required maintenance.
  • Identify preventative maintenance opportunities.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of general tools
    Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.
    Knowledge of air-conditioners

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 Years working experience in a general handyman position with a proven track record
  • Matric/grade 12 or Equivalent NQF 4 Certificate
  • N2 Certificate in engineering
