Job Description:

To progress Nedbank’s Media agenda, the Head: Group Media will ensure Nedbank’s effective media presence, audience reach, brand reputation management, and ROMI. This will include leading and overseeing our media team, partner agencies, and internal stakeholders in strategy, planning, execution, implementation, optimisation, governance, performance analysis, and marketing funnel reporting of both offline and digital media initiatives. Additionally, the Head: Group Media will play a crucial role in advancing Nedbank’s digital maturity, IQ, and skills, by championing digital media, analytics, and media technology knowledge, capability, and excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data agenda for group media; ensuring that all use and proof of concept (POC’s) are in line with Nedbank’s governance, compliance, security, and risk policies and procedures
  • Lead and direct the development of media reporting and presentations, including presentations to all brand/ marketing committees, and executive leadership teams
  • Proactively identify threats and opportunities to improve the risk and control environment through analysis of risk information, and ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of identified controls to prevent risks materialising
  • Implement media supplier transformation, in line with the overall transformation agenda
  • Drive Group Media performance against targets set for legal and regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, market conduct and other business process obligations
  • Lead and direct the relevant media components of Nedbank’s marketing effectiveness/ ROMI model in line with portfolio and business requirements.
  • Lead and direct the development of data-led remarketing and retargeting strategies
  • Oversee the relevant aspects of the campaign management process (briefing through to reporting) developed by the designated portfolio media/ performance managers and agencies
  • Create, promote, and maintain a culture of operational risk awareness and accountability within the group media team, including the timely resolution of internal and external audit issues

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5-10 years’ experience leading a media team and agencies at a senior level, working within a Marketing environment (with emphasis on media management including digital, offline media and performance marketing)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Outstanding organisational, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Previous media and advertising experience building effective integrated campaigns
  • Post graduate qualification in Marketing and Communications or Commerce
  • Stakeholder management and existing relationships with key media industry experts and stakeholders
  • A results-driven approach to marketing initiatives
