Job Description:

Be at the centre of retail credit innovation using your quantitative and modeling expertise. Develop and drive innovative quantitative solutions to enhance and optimise the credit journey of individual clients, through predictive modeling, business modeling, API solutions and advance analytics, and to drive strategic and innovative quantitative project. Projects can also go beyond the scope of credit, depending on where the need for innovation and quantitative synergy exists

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update logic-based models used for client advice / recommendations
  • Develop, maintain, and update classifications modelling (income and expenses) for credit application process
  • Ensure business process consistency through formal communication; updating and maintaining policies.
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g.. Green Strategy)
  • Identify areas where machine learning modeling can improve the current status quo and propose, model, and implement alternatives to compete
  • Review reporting and ensure accuracy through analysis and providing feedback
  • Assist with analytical expertise to model business cases or drive areas of improvement, ensure accuracy and feasibility through impact analysis for newly developed products
  • Challenge credit model builds from around the cluster through challenger modeling and ensuring best practice, using alternative data and machine learning techniques
  • Providing advice to key operational areas ensuring optimal resource allocation and desired results through analysis and communication
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys etc)

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5+ years Modelling / Credit Risk / Machine Learning
  • Experience in data modelling using SQL / SAS / Python etc.
  • 3 year qualification in Statistics, Data Science or Engineering
  • Post graduate degree in Statistics/Data Science/Engineering
  • 2+ years Managing and/or coaching junior analysts
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
