Job Description:

Direct, organise, plan, schedule, communicate, execute and report on software code releases on the organisation’s IT infrastructure, proactively managing all associated risks (this includes application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, projects and programmes).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the process of negotiating objective and realistic service level agreements, monitor appropriateness and recommend adjustments.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture of work centric thinking, productivity, service delivery and quality management.
  • Take ownership for driving career development.
  • Contribute to the development of area specific budgets to minimise expenditure, in alignment with operational plans.
  • Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct release readiness reviews and go/no-go reviews, ensuring early life support processes are in place.
  • Govern the deployment of the release and handover of documentation.
  • Finalise release activities, checking all records are updated, and creating release summary reports for the project team/stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to track releases and deliver reports.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
  • Implement and provide input into governance processes, systems and legislation within area of specialisation.

Job Requirements:

  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with technologies used within the business
  • Thorough understanding of the applications and platforms that the team supports, and the business environment in which they are used.
  • Detailed understanding of release, change, problem and project management principles and methodologies.
  • People management skills
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Broad knowledge of both Agile Scrum and Waterfall project delivery models.

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5 – 8 years’ experience in IT software delivery (essential)
  • Insurance industry experience (desirable)
  • Relevant B-degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • ITIL certification
  • ITIL Foundation
  • ITIL Managing Professional
