Job Description:

Admission to St John’s College is a complex and involved process, and we pride ourselves on providing personalised attention to each family and their individual hopes and dreams for their children. Each enquiry and visit is important to the sustainability of our school. The Admissions Officer is a crucial role with a range of internal and external customers. Attention to detail and excellent administration skills are a must, as is the highest level of professionalism in order to support the overall Admissions and Marketing strategy to drive recruitment of students to St John’s College.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communication to all applicants regarding offers, non-offers, credit checks and waitlist status
  • Prepare the applicant invitation list and categories for each year’s enrolment process
  • Daily communications for all admissions applicants via email, phone calls, and drop-in visits
  • Track student withdrawals and find replacement students throughout the year
  • Managing place-offer invitations and the interview process
  • Sending of all communication via iSams as well as updating status of applications to applicants regularly
  • Liaise with all school secretaries regularly regarding interviews and applicant status as well as withdrawals
  • Running the beginning-to-end process for the intake of all new learners for The Bridge, Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory Schools.
  • Maintenance of applicant databases
  • Review incoming applications checking for correct grade/year
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Admissions departments of feeder schools and their Heads
  • Organising and leading tours of schools throughout the year for scheduled and non-scheduled applicants

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to staff and customers at all levels
  • Professional and proactive in approach
  • Experience working in admissions in a private school is preferable
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and planning skills
  • An appropriate level of literacy (including IT literacy) and numeracy
  • Willingness to work on occasional evenings and weekends as and when required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • High levels of tact and diplomacy
  • 4+ years experience in an administrative role
