Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively ensuring timely payments of debts
  • Potential use of systems for sending reminders to parents
  • Ensuring billing and other charges are processed correctly in the correct periods,
  • Weekly reporting to the financial manager including age analyses
  • Escalating all potential problems to the financial manager immediately
  • Contacting default debtors and collecting any outstanding debts,
  • Ensuring debtor’s reconciliations are performed in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that systems are appropriate for the purpose they serve and follow Redhill’s strategy of clever use of technology
  • Ensuring timely processing of debtors’ receipts
  • Ensuring that debtors statements are delivered in a POPIA compliant manner
  • Ensuring appropriate filing is kept up to date and physically assisting with this
  • Integration to the ADAM school administration system
  • Maintaining contact with debtors who are experiencing problems with their billings and resolving those issues

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to reconcile complex debtors’ accounts, including foreign receipts
  • An appropriate academic qualification
  • Good understanding of the legal complexities of school debtors
  • Previous work experience as a Credit Controller
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Accounting and Office software
  • A can-do attitude who takes responsibility for the role
  • Ability to deal with problematic debtors
