GPG Vacancies 2023 – Head of Clinical Unit Psychiatry

Job Responsibilities:

Provide supervision and leadership within the Department of Psychiatry at DGMAH and SMU complex. Provide clinical service delivery, a strong teaching and training program and relevant research. Liaise with other medical and surgical specialties at DGMAH and with clinicians in the cluster to provide comprehensive mental health services. Responsible for the teaching and training program of undergraduate and postgraduate students in Psychiatry. Responsible for all management activities within Psychiatry department, including related management activities within DGMAH and SMU. Ability to improve the quality of outputs while ensuring optimum utilization of fiscal and human resources. Initiate, undertake and supervise relevant research in Psychiatry including the supervision of MMED mini dissertations. Report and provide support to the HoD of Psychiatry including chairing a departmental Committee or equivalent

Job Requirements:

The successful candidates will be required to perform commuted overtime in the Department of Psychiatry. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Excellent team player. strong record of clinical expertise, clinical governance, research, teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Excellent managerial, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to supervise clinical training and teaching. Knowledge in Psychiatry including provision of direct clinical care, supervision and mentoring of subordinates, management of teams
