Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic, energetic and self-motivated individual has arisen in our Prestige Clothing Johannesburg Manufacturing Plant. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Manufacturing Operations. Prestige Clothing Johannesburg is a brand new leg of TFG’s well-established Manufacturing Division. Our unique people strategy is what differentiates us from other Clothing Manufacturers. This specific plant will predominantly employ employees with disabilities (deaf individuals) and will continue to grow our Manufacturing footprint across South Africa. The Production Manager for Prestige Johannesburg will be responsible for quality product, on-time and in full deliveries in the quickest lead time while continuously improving what we do best.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as the link between Prestige Johannesburg and all other Prestige Clothing & TFG D&M Departments
• Represent the team of deaf employees, and translate where and when necessary
• Review financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvements
• Implementation of the operations strategy for the production unit that is aligned to the strategic objectives of TFG D&M.
• This would involve the objectives, quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and the cost of the plan
• Ensures that planning production meetings, production activities, machine maintenance plans and maintaining product quality and budgets are adhered to
• Manages and motivates a team by continuous improvement
• Managing employees, and serve as liaison between employees and their families

Job Requirements:

• Microsoft Office and MIS exposure an advantage
• Fluent in Sign Language
• 3- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Clothing Manufacturing Experience, Lean Manufacturing Principles and Practices, TPM, TQM and Quick Response Advantageous
