Job Description:

To provide direction and research for environmental management practices in Eskom and designated areas of the business, implementation of practices for one or more of the following areas e.g., water resource and waste management, land and biodiversity man

Job Responsibilities:

• Process control manuals and procedures and research proposals
• Internal and external stakeholder management
• Identify, lead and conduct research in area of specialization
• Identify, interpret, assess proposed environmental management related legislation and standards
• Formulate Eskom environmental systems, policies, standards, specifications,
• Determine and recommend best practices for environmental management and consult on implementation
• Explore and formulate engagement with relevant stakeholders and authorities and consult strategic partnership
• Identify environmental management objectives and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
• Compiling research reports and publications
• Coach and mentor environmental professionals
• Consult and advise on the interpretation and implementation of environmental management strategies, policies, and procedures

Job Requirements:

• Analyse global environmental trends and practices
• Application and use of the various performance management systems and the protocols for integrating and changing the systems
• Develop policies and procedures
• Apply interpersonal skills and communication and behaviours to influence decision makers
• Develop and implement research proposals, road maps and projects
• Apply interpersonal skills to communicate as a corporate representative in forums and meetings
• Concepts and principles of conducting, benchmarking, and using benchmarking information
• Make technical and educational presentations to various stakeholders
• Use various techniques to conduct gap analysis
• Project management
• Analyse current and future environmental conditions and impacts in line with Eskom business strategy

Qualification & Experience:

• 7 years experience in Environmental Management
• Professional Registration: South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
• Honours Degree in Environmental Management at NQF8 with 480 credits
