Job Description:

The effective and efficient management of a multi-billion rand interconnected power system under his/her control to deliver quality supply to customers through the integrated urban, reticulation sub-transmission and transmission networks

Job Responsibilities:

• Undergoes and provides on-job training
• Manages planned / unplanned network events
• Using the Distribution Management System (DMS) to perform real-time network management optimisation and restoration
• Enhances customer satisfaction and real-time quality of supply
• Issues operating instructions for the loading / de-loading of plant, control of the power flow, frequency and voltage
• Manages and takes responsibility for the safety of personnel and plant under normal and abnormal conditions

Job Requirements:

• Communication skills
• SATEPSA and other Customer agreements where appropriate
• Electricity delivery terminology
• Risk Management
• ORHVS (Operating regulations for high voltage systems)
• Decision making skills
• Analytical skills

Qualification & Experience:

• National Diploma Electrical Engineering or
• Valid driver’s license (Code B)
• 2 Years Relevant experience in a Control Centre, Distribution field experience,
• National N Diploma Electrical Engineering
• Transmission field experience
