This position reports to the Head of Brand & Communications

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build & execute a Brand & Communications Strategy for Takealot’s Marketplace
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns and strategies for Takealot’s Marketplace and monitor and report their success
  • Create internal communications initiatives that will increase Marketplace exposure to employees and foster a positive perception.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing and communications collateral to Marketplace sellers to ensure that it is consistent with Takealot’s brand, including newsletters, seller platform copy, banners etc
  • Engage with key cross-functional internal teams, stakeholders and third-party agencies to complete briefs and project manage campaigns from start to finish to ensure expectations are managed across the board and deadlines are met.
  • Plan monthly content themes for Takealot Marketplace marketing campaigns, (including brand-led, promotions, newsletters, testimonial videos, customer service templates, PR, other initiatives etc)
  • Research and keep the team abreast of competitor trends and best practices
  • Create excitement around the Takealot brand and help come up with ideas to further build brand equity and development amongst Takealot Sellers.
  • Input ideas for new and existing brand campaigns and take ownership of their development and implementation.
  • Daily management of brand campaign documents like marketing calendars, campaign & project control documents, battleplans, briefs and campaign decks.
  • Assist with brand reputation management and sentiment tracking. Analyse and report to the business on a monthly basis.

  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and a well-structured thought process
  • Ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and experience of marshalling cross-departmental resources towards daily goals and objectives

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5+ years working in a Brand Management role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing or related degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in an e-commerce/ marketplace environment (advantageous)
  • Ability to run projects according to basic project management processes and protocols
  • Experience working with project plans and project management tools, including Asana
  • A high level of attention to detail and great organisational abilities are a prerequisite to succeeding in this role
