Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a permanent Payroll Reconciliation Clerk to work within the Payroll Reconciliation department. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Payroll Reconciliations Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure transparent, timeous and accurate reporting of general ledger reconciliations.
  • To ensure 3rd parties are extracted and paid timeously.
  • To identify areas to improve reporting in respect of reconciliations.
  • To ensure all GL reconciliation unresolved items are addressed.
  • To ensure age analysis of control account items unresolved is not older than 60 days.
  • To be able to respond to 3d party payment queries.
  • To comply with company set standards.
  • To interact extensively with the payroll department leaders when issues of concern are identified.
  • To be able to report on and explain payment variances.
  • To adhere to correct GL reconciliation controls put in place by head of department.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong technical financial background.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail.
  • Computer literate (MS Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities including the ability to anticipate potential problems.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12) essential.
  • Payroll experience.
  • SAP working experience.
  • Accounting experience (advantageous).
