AVI Careers – Production Team Leader

Job Description:

A career opportunity exists for a Team Leader within the Production Department, based at the Snackworks Isando factory, and reporting directly to the Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective utilization of labour in accordance with the line labour standard
• Ensure IR procedures are complied with (e.g. absenteeism, poor work performance, etc)
• Monitor and respond to daily variances to drive delivery when demands are above-planned volumes
• Implement and maintain production control systems
• Timeous completion of shift-based reports
• Lead Green Area meetings every Monday morning before start-up
• Monitor and maintain product details, new and existing products
• Achieve shift production plan (SKU availability to meet customer requirements)
• Plan to enable efficient deployment of stocks in partnership with the distribution team
• Implement and maintain Food Safety, GMP, and SHEQ practices
• Develop, train, and motivate team members

Job Requirements:

• Experience with Production Planning software i.e. Shopware
• Working with People
• Planning and Organizing
• Good knowledge of Industrial Relations
• Deliver Results
• Experience in developing people
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
• Able to work shifts (12 hr shifts – 6 days a week)
• Must be on call 24/7 when needed, as per operational requirements

Qualification & Experience:

• At least 3 years’ Production Planning experience gained at a supervisory level within an FMCG environment
• A relevant completed tertiary qualification in Engineering or Operations Management (B.Tech; N.Dip)
