Job Responsibilities:

• Investigate trends in pricing and availability of typical materials, goods and services
• Track global & local feed stock, forex movements & translate into price forecasts
• Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers, monitoring, and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices
• Maintain necessary ISO procedures/ documentation, related to the Purchasing
• Source and benchmark alternative products to ensure business continuity
• Facilitate implementation of procurement procedures for continuous improvement
• Collaborate closely with Operations (Manufacturing team in DBN &PMB), Logistics and Pricing team.
• Analyse the marketplace to find suppliers that provide best product/service cost, quality and delivery objectives
• Supplier Relationship Management & Contracting
• Negotiate and conclude supply contracts with key suppliers
• Understanding of import documentation procedures and INCOTERMS
• Lead a procurement team (based in JHB, PMB & DBN)
• Manage stock to optimal levels; realize inventory cost efficiencies in raw material and work in progress

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management /Chemical Degree
• Knowledge and experience in transformative Preferential Procurement policy under BBBEE regulations
• Extensive experience in manufacturing chemicals purchasing an added advantage
• Background in manufacturing processes and a working knowledge of MRP & ERP systems (SAP) preferred
• Minimum 3 years Chemicals buying experience
• Minimum 7 years Procurement experience and at least 3 years as a Manager
