Job Description:

A top, leading broadsheet morning newspaper is looking to employ a Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations and to develop and implement strategies and plans to achieve the organisations’ long-term objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Payroll Administration
• Set accounting system controls and standards for the Finance department
• Physical Fixed asset verification
• Control and manage cash flow
• Provide timeous and accurate financial and statistical reports
• Auditing – financial year-end, prepare annual reports and liaise with both internal and external auditors
• BEE reporting
• Tax submissions
• Prepare, finalize and monitor annual budget in line with the business plan
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage financial division

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work under pressure
• B Comm degree
• Minimum 10 years’ working experience in a senior financial capacity
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced Excel and Pastel skills
• Exceptional reconciliation abilities
• Independent and self-motivated
• Some travelling might be required
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Must be flexible with regards to working hours
• Knowledge of the media industry an advantage
